WordPress plugin for Buffer
PressQueue is a free WordPress plugin for Buffer. When you publish a post, PressQueue adds it to your Buffer queue with the message and image your rules set, and Buffer posts it on LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads and Facebook.

PressQueue sends your posts through Buffer to
How it works
Paste an API key from your Buffer settings. Your Buffer channels show up in WordPress, and you switch on the ones PressQueue may use.
"Share every new post to all my channels" is one click. You test the rule against your recent posts, then switch it on.
PressQueue starts in test mode and only records what it would share. When the test runs look right, you switch to Live.
When a post goes live, PressQueue adds it to your Buffer queue with its message and image, and Buffer posts it from there.
Rules
A rule picks the posts, the channels, the message and the timing. One rule is often enough. You can add more for special cases, like a category that only goes to LinkedIn.
In the editor
Each post has a Social sharing panel next to the editor. It shows where the post goes when you publish it. You can switch sharing off for that post, or give it its own message, channels, timing or image.
Share now shows the message and image each channel gets, and sends the post when you confirm.
You can also make new posts start with sharing switched off. Then only the posts you switch on go out.
Social images
PressQueue draws an image for each post with its title and your site name. You pick the look once from 24 backgrounds and 6 fonts, or use your own background.
The same image can show up when anyone else shares the link to your post.
Staying in control
Every share is recorded, and the Activity page explains each one in plain words: sent to Buffer, waiting, or not shared and why.
See what went to Buffer, which posts a "never share" rule kept back, and why an older post was not shared.
Keep a category, tag or author off social media. These rules win over every sharing rule.
PressQueue starts in test mode and records what it would share. Paused holds everything that is waiting.
Saving a post again never posts it twice. If Buffer's reply is unclear, PressQueue asks you to check Buffer before it tries again.
Pick up to 100 published posts, check where each one goes and spread them across your Buffer queue.
The social image can also be the link preview of the post, with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, The SEO Framework, Jetpack or no SEO plugin.
The Social sharing panel and Share now work in both editors.
Save a message as a template and start new rules from it.
The Buffer API key is stored encrypted. There is no PressQueue account and no outside service in between.
WP-CLI commands with JSON output, hooks for each decision and delivery, and a provider interface.

Buffer's login button needs each website's address registered with Buffer in advance. That does not work for a plugin people install on their own sites. You create a personal API key in Buffer's settings and paste it into PressQueue, which stores it encrypted.
No. Installing PressQueue shares nothing, and it starts in test mode. Posts dated more than a day back are only shared when you pick them with Share now or Share old posts.
Administrators can use everything. Editors and authors see the Social sharing panel in the editor when their role has PressQueue's post sharing permission, which a role plugin can add.
Yes. The "Share this post" switch, the settings for a single post and Share now are in the block editor and in the classic editor.
